Vive la France!

The past two days, I've been actively enjoying every minute of my last weekend in Grenoble. Yesterday, I spent the morning at my host brother's school, watching a musical performance. Then, Dana and I went to the city center to watch France play against Argentina in the final 16 round of the World Cup. This was an incredible experience for me because football fans in France are crazy about the World Cup; it was only the octa-final round and it felt more intense than the Super Bowl in America. I painted the French flag on my face I felt so at home while watching the game with total strangers. The 4-3 victory for France was just the cherry on top.

That night, I was at dinner in the city center and saw a group of people walking down the street carrying lit torches. As it turned out, they were doing a performance where they played with fire and danced to traditional music. It was so mesmerizing to see and it made me realize how many unique and interesting things happen in Grenoble.

Today, I went with my host family to Lyon. This is a beautiful city and I am in love with it. I was able to see the Cathedral of Notre Dame at Fourvière, eat at a traditional French restaurant, and just walk around the streets and the main plaza.

Currently, I am at home watching the Denmark-Croatia World Cup game. I can't believe this is my last night here--I am going to miss Grenoble so much.
